To mark Cervical Screening Awareness Week (10-16th June), local MP Andrew Stephenson has teamed up with charity Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust, to encourage people to attend their smear test in order to prevent cervical cancer.
Andrew has today backed the Citizen’s Advice Scam Awareness Campaign. The Campaign, which launched today and runs until 23 June aims to make sure people ‘stop, report, talk’ if they think they’re being targeted by scams or fraud.
In every local election since Labour introduced postal votes on demand in 2002 there have been suspicions of electoral fraud in Pendle. Just last year, every major political party reported allegations of ‘personation’ – where someone tries to vote by pretending to be someone else.
