Andrew is calling for more Play Streets to be introduced across Pendle. Play streets are quiet residential streets that are temporarily closed to through traffic so that local children can have the space to themselves for a few hours each week.

This Thank a Teacher Day, Wednesday 19 June, Andrew Stephenson MP has paid tribute to teachers across Pendle, whose hard work means that more children are gaining the education they need to get on in life.
This week, the Government confirmed its commitment to achieve ‘net zero’ carbon emissions by 2050 – the first major country to do so. This is an ambitious target and achieving it won’t be easy. However, the UK can and must take this opportunity to lead.
Andrew attended an event organised by ADS and the Aerospace Growth Partnership at the House of Commons yesterday (11 June 2019) to highlight the value of the UK aerospace to national prosperity through supporting local jobs and skills.
Andrew has welcomed the announcement that the UK will become the first major economy in the world to end its contribution towards global warming, as the Conservative Government introduces a new law to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.
To mark Cervical Screening Awareness Week (10-16th June), local MP Andrew Stephenson has teamed up with charity Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust, to encourage people to attend their smear test in order to prevent cervical cancer.
